This week, the global Deaf community is celebrating International Week of Deaf People. Created on September 23, 1951, the World Federation of the Deaf was founded to promote the human rights of Deaf people to communicate in sign language and break down social barriers that they encounter in many places around the world. At the home web page of the federation, make time to learn about its story, projects, upcoming 20th World Congress, and current action plans.
