Nicole Meyer '99: Giving Back to the Place That Gave Her a Chance

For Nicole Meyer ’99, Student Services Specialist and Homeless Liaison, giving back to MCC is deeply personal.

“I support MCC because MCC changed my life,” she said.

When Nicole first arrived at MCC, she wasn’t sure where she belonged. But her professors noticed her, checked in when she missed class, and encouraged her to keep going. “They made me believe that maybe I could actually do this,” she recalled. “They kept me in college.”

Today, Nicole has the opportunity to be that person for someone else, supporting students who may be balancing school with financial challenges, housing insecurity, work, and family responsibilities.

Her commitment extends beyond her day-to-day work. Through payroll deduction, Nicole gives back to the place that once gave her a chance. “The small amount that comes out of my paycheck does not change my life. But for a student, those dollars can mean everything.”

For Nicole, it’s a simple choice: “If what I give can help even one student stay, believe in themselves, and keep going, then it is worth it.”
